Meet James Ussery
Candidate for United States House of Representatives
Republican for Texas’ 5th Congressional District
James Ussery is a native East Texan citizen proud to call Quitman his home. He and his wife Kimberly have been married for 32 years and have raised three wonderful daughters together. He has had the great blessing to have his family grow over the years and is a proud grandfather to Weston, Casey, and Taylor as well. James has been a member of the Church of Christ his entire life and attended the Quitman Church of Christ. He works hard to provide for his family and chose to do so by making his career in the oil and gas industry since 1992. He has encountered many hard working people throughout his career and wants to be a voice for those that he has had the pleasure to meet, those who share his work ethic and ideals, and those with whom he shares love for East and North Texas and upholding values. James has decided to run to represent all the citizens in district 5 to be their voice as he wants to be more than someone who was just voted in. James wants to hear the concerns and ideas and would enjoy the privilege to bring District 5’s concerns and ideas to Washington. He understands the significance of having the people’s trust to represent the great people of his community. He values the idea of communication as James knows by working in the oil and gas industry that reporting with good solid communication to his employer is vital. He understands that the citizens in District 5 will be his employer and promises to report back about how the progress is going. Each deserve to be communicated with in the manner of their choosing whether it be in person, through social media, in the local newspapers, or by telephone. He believes in being able to contact the sitting Congressman directly without having to wait a significant amount of time to hear back, if even at all. Anyone that knows James knows that his family is his pride and joy and considers East and North Texas as part of what he believes in protecting and serving. “In our district we are neighbors that are ready to listen and lend a hand to each other and you deserve your candidate to do the same. “ ~ James Ussery

James understands what average Americans go through daily trying to stretch their paychecks to pay for their food, gas, utilities, homes, clothing, doctor visits and prescriptions. James also understands the unexpected items happens at the worst times when money is just not there. The last thing we all need while trying to live our everyday lives is worrying about what the people we vote and put in office may not putting our well being first before their political well being. We all need someone who does exactly what they tell us they will do during their campaign. James wants to not only earn your vote but wants to earn your trust that he will always put the district citizens first by meeting with the citizens of each city, town and small community citizens that make this great district. His job while in office will be your voice, your concerns, and your ideas you each want to be addressed not what he feels is best for the citizens of district 5. James wants to protect us all by making sure we all enjoy our rights we have been blessed to have in the Constitution and nobody in Washington will be trying to change them. James wants to do his part to help make our communities safe, help make sure the current Administration makes wise decisions to create jobs and keep us safe from all enemies both foreign and domestic.
James is currently a District Manager for a chemical company that provides chemicals to the oil and gas industry. James started working as a carpenter and pipe fitter helper in the Petro Chemical plants in 1992 before getting a job as a plant operator in 2000. After leaving the plant in 2003 to go work in the oilfields in East Texas as an equipment operator I worked hard and endless hours and have been rewarded through the years to move into supervisor roles and on to management roles. As a District Manager he understands the importance of listening to the concerns, ideas and solutions from his employees, his employer and his customer to make the best decisions for his district in order to be sure they all are well taken care of. James always leads by saying “It is my responsibility that each of their concerns and their needs are met to their expectations and is my responsibility to earn their trust that I will always get the job done and not quit until it is finished”. With your vote this is what you will expect from James when he wins a seat for District 5 and is your next Republican House of Representative.
